Trinidad and Tobago: The law protection department of the island nation charged a 27-year-old man found suspected in a case of murder. The accused is scheduled to face legal trial in the court on Monday, 19 August.
The victim was killed by the suspect who drove a motor car on him. The fatal act of murder was observed on the highway of Debe in Trinidad. The information on the unlawful act in Debe was updated officially by the national police authority.
The accused was arrested and laid with charges of murder on Friday, 16 August. The man in his late twenties is identified in the investigation operation launched by the police.
The suspect of murder is mentioned in the police reports as a resident of a settlement in Maraval, Trinidad. The man is known as Trevist Nicholas, whose name is mentioned in his official documents.
The victim of the murder on Debe Highway, Trinidad, is also identified. The deceased individual is mentioned in the case report as a male victim, whose name in the documents is quoted as Keifer Wilson.
As per the shared details on the Debe murder case, the incident was reported on the night of Tuesday, 13 August, around 10:00 pm. It is said that one more man was with the victim at the time when he was fatally attacked by the suspect in a motor car.
It is mentioned that the victim and the man in his company were traveling in a motor vehicle along the Sir Solomon Hochoy Highway near Debe. The victim was driving the car when one other vehicle suddenly collided with his vehicle, which was moving on the same route.
It is understood that after the collision, a verbal argument started between both sides. The suspect driving the other vehicle emerged and attacked the victim and his friend with a spanner and assaulted them physically.
Reportedly, the victim and the man in his company started running away from the attacking suspect to save themselves. Both men attempted to flee on foot while being fearful for their lives and safety.
The collected information in the case stated that the suspect started chasing both men in his car, who were running away on foot. It is said that the accused hit Keifer Wilson with the car, which eventually led to his death.
The information about the murder in Debe was soon collected by the unit of the Trinidad police department. The officers active in the region took charge in response to the report and arrived at the crime scene on the highway.
The investigation was launched by blocking the spot of the highway, and the district medical officers examined the victim’s body. The official announcement of death was marked, and the relevant clues and evidence collected from the scene were seized.
The dead body of the victim was removed from the highway and was taken for post-mortem examination. One more murder case in Trinidad was registered, and the operation was launched in the direction of catching the culprit.
Later, the suspected man was held by the police with the efforts of the officers from Highway Patrol and Emergency Response Patrol. The man was charged afterwards following the advice of S Jaglal, the Deputy Director of Public Prosecutions.
The case of the murder in Trinidad against the man was forwarded for the legal trail under laid charges for the commited offence. On Monday, the appearance is expected to be virtual in the South Criminal High Court.
