St. Kitts and Nevis is hosting the American Netball Men’s Championship from September 12th to 18th, 2024. Eight teams from countries like Antigua & Barbuda, Grenada, the United States of America, England, St Kitts and Nevis, St. Vincent and Grenadines, Trinidad and Tobago and Jamaica have participated in the competition.
Americas Netball Men’s Championships 2024 shared the official result of Day 1, with the Grenada men’s netball team leading the way after their big win, scoring 48 goals against 23 to give them an impressive goal average of 2.09. They scored two points for their performance, making them the early favourites in this tournament. Grenada delivered a win, bringing down the USA men’s netball team in their first game of America’s Netball Championship.
Following closely behind, the St. Kitts and Nevis men’s netball team secured the second position with 41 goals against 27. Their solid gameplay and 1.52 average earned them two points as well. In the first game, St. Kitts and Nevis’ men’s netball team played against Antigua & Barbuda’s men’s netball team, and the home side beat them by 41-27. This set them on a great path to success as the tournament proceeded.
Trinidad & Tobago men’s netball team also registered its first win on Day 1, scoring 55 goals against 37. Trinidad and Tobago men’s netball team played remarkably and secured their 55-37 win over St Vincent and the Grenadines men’s netball team on Thursday at the 2024 Americas Netball Men’s Netball Championship.
Jamaica men’s netball team won by a slightly smaller margin with a 30-27 contest. The result gave both sides two points, leaving them level in the early standings with Grenada, St. Kitts, and Nevis men’s netball teams. Jamaica men’s team won their first match against England’s netball team and secured a 30-27.
St. Vincent and Grenadines men’s netball team fell behind as they had a challenging start in their campaign, as did England and the United States men’s netball teams. Despite many efforts, the England men’s netball team went down to Jamaica after scoring 27 goals against 30. The United States of America men’s netball team was stuck in the openers, where they suffered a solid 23-48 loss to Grenada, leaving their average score at 0.48
Notably, the matches scheduled on September 12th, September 14th, September 16th and September 17th would be played at PAM Tyson Netball Complex at 5:30 in the afternoon.
The other matches scheduled on September 13th, September 15th, and September 18th would take place at the Cicely Grell-Hull Dora Steven Netball Complex at 5:00 in the afternoon.
The top five teams showcasing the best sportsmanship in the American Netball Men’s Championship will secure a position in The Central Americas Caribbean Games in 2026 at Santo Domingo.
