Trinidad and Tobago: MV Dawn Humanitarian vessel docked at Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago on Monday. It consisted of humanitarian supplies and other relief support for the Caribbean region adversely affected by Hurricane Beryl.
The vessel conducted routine maintenance and restocked on supplies from Trinidad and Tobago for the countries affected by Beryl. The vessel is piloted by Captain Glenn Dalby who docked the MV Dawn in the country for significant supplies.
The crew who are expected to be in port until Thursday were provided with important destination information to enhance their safety. It will provide direct service to the countries with relief packages and other humanitarian aid.
Notably, Grenada and St Vincent and the Grenadines were hard hit by the Hurricane Beryl- a first hurricane of the season. It has caused massive destruction across the nations with the loss of lives, livelihoods and the means of survival. The houses and other infrastructural aspects have been destroyed by the hurricane severally in these island nations.
Due to the hurricane beryl, the countries have been standing still and working to restore their lives with the help of aid from other nations. The governments have been working to support their citizens, but from agriculture to tourism, every means of the economy and income have been devastated by Beryl.
Hurricane Season 2024 has been posing a massive threat to the Caribbean as the met department predicted that the season will remain super active. The first hurricane of the season destroyed the island nation as the lives and livelihoods were hit hard by the natural calamity.
Due to their geographical locations and the size, the countries are small islands with limited resources and have always remained on the verge of these threats. Now, Hurricane Beryl again showcased that the small islands have faced the consequences of the wrongdoings of the developed world as climate change is the result of the carbon footprints which is emitted by the big countries.
