Grenada: interCaribbean Airways launched the “Spirit of Grenada” aircraft to celebrate their partnership and the independence of the island nation. The aircraft featured the Grenadian flag on its tail and honoured the crew from the island nation who with the airline.
Brittney Patterson from St Clair is also one of the members of all-Grenadian crew and will welcome the passengers with their warm nature. The aircraft was unveiled during a brief welcoming ceremony at Maurice Bishop International Airport on Monday in the presence of the influential dignitaries and tourism industry professionals.
The “Spirit of Grenada” aircraft was launched with an intent to boost the tourism industry and the economic landscape of both Grenada Tourism Authority and the intercaribbean Airways. The new look is the first of its kind in the region and the aircraft is expected to bring new benefits to the tourism sector and the local community of the island nation.
The all-Grenadian crew will operate the aircraft as the tourism authority sent their delegation including Captain, Therron Charles, First Officer, Andrew Hopkin and Flight Attendant, Brittney Patterson St Clair.
The aircraft is built to enhance the relationships between Grenada and the interCaribbean Airways and create new business ventures across the region. It will create employment opportunities for the local economy and enhance the landscape for economic diversification.
Grenada has also been celebrating the Independence with cultural events and other regional activities, showcasing the Caribbean richness in the traditions. The aircraft has marked the regional unity and the struggle behind independence.
The authorities expressed pleasure and extended gratitude to the airline for their strategic partnership with new aircraft. InterCaribbean Airways has worked to bring the beautiful aircraft home which will fly the nation flag of Grenada with the service.
interCaribbean Airways offers direct and non-stop service from St Vincent to Barbados and Grenada for enhancing the regional connectivity. The convenient connections will also be provided to 6 other nations including Antigua, Dominica, Guyana, St Kitts and Nevis and Saint Lucia.
