Ron Redhead, Member of Parliament and Former Minister of Youth and Sports has taken up the initiative of large-scale repairs of the housing society. Mon Rush housing scheme has given approval to this initiative and will provide benefits to people, citing safety and protection.

A few days back, Grenada was attacked by a Hurricane, which caused significant problems for the local residents and adversely impacted the farmers of the country. The northeast region of Grenada was affected the most by the Hurricane, after which a grant of $11 million dollars was announced by the government.

Keeping the current situation of Grenada in mind, Ron Redhead has announced the initiative of the Mon Rush Scheme, under which the affected houses of residents will be repaired.

Ron Redhead posted about the commencement of the scheme on their official Facebook handle. He said, “I am happy to announce that large-scale repairs of the Mon Rush Housing Scheme’s multiple units have commenced by the Housing Authority of Grenada, and more engagements will be forthcoming in the future.”

He also expressed his grief regarding the hurricane situation in the country and how it has caused significant problems for the people. He also said, “We will be erecting solar lights throughout the compound in the next few weeks to enhance the safety of all the residents in the scheme.”

This came to light after the severe damage to houses and agricultural activities of the farmers in the northeast region of Grenada. After Ron Redhead posted about the initiative, netizens reacted strangely to the initiative.

Some internet users have appreciated Ron Redhead for the public work he and the government are doing for the citizens. At the same time, some users have also criticized his way of reflecting the scenario of the affected people and their houses.

Hurricane Beryl was a very powerful cyclone that spread in the early days of July 2024. It has caused damage to various parts of Grenada, along with several other countries such as Saint Vincent, Barbados, etc. After this incident came into the limelight, the government has tried every possible way to help the citizens of the country.

The Mon Rush Housing Scheme is yet another initiative taken by the government after the Hurricane Beryl Incentive Package. This will be a great help to all the affected people of the country. The government has provided essential materials to the farmers along with a grant of $4500 for those having 5 acres of land and $9000 for farmers having more than that.
