Dominica set for fun-filled Father’s Day 2024; Minister Melissa and others to host exciting events

Roseau, Dominica: To appreciate the Fathers on the occasion of Father’s Day, Dominica is geared up to host numerous fun filled activities on June 16th. Several Ministers have also joined in the idea and have come together to host family fun day to celebrate fathers and are inviting the Dominicans to join and be part of the celebration.

Housing Minister Melissa Poponne Skerrit and Finance Minister Dr Irving McIntyre are together organising a “Father’s Day Family Fun Day-Score Big & Win Big” event. The event will be organised on June 16, 2024, Sunday starting at 4:00 PM. The decided venue for the celebration is La Promenade.

The event will feature several gameplays that will include Dominoes, Table Tennis, Cornhole, Chess, Bobbing for Apples and many more. It will be a combination of good food, fun games and melodious music.

Minister Melisa, inviting the constituents of Roseau Central and Roseau Valley shared the social media post stating, “Come celebrate our fathers with us!! Eating competitions, games, bouncy castles for the kids, music and so much more!! See you there!!”.

Appreciating the father’s and crediting them for the hardships they go through in raising the families, Minister Melissa shares,” Father’s Day is coming soon!!! They are the foundation of our families and we honor them always!”.

Also, Minister Denis Charles Pemberton is hosting a “Father’s Day Domino Festival finals” on June 16th at 3:00 PM for the fathers of Soufriere Constituency as she is the parliamentary representative of the region. The venue for the finals will be Soufriere Playing Field.

However, she shared that the Domino Festival Semi-Finals will be held on Saturday, 15th June, at 6:00 PM at the Soufriere Bayfront.

Minister Pemberton extended a special invite to the Soufriere Constituency Fathers on her social media account noting “We are Celebrating Our Fathers in Grand Style This Father’s Day with our Domino Festival Finals!”. Further the minister informed that the winner will get a cash prize of $4000.

Additionally, Minister Pemberton shared a glimpse from last year’s Father’s Day celebration in the Soufriere Constituency and noted that she is eagerly waiting for this year’s celebration.

Around the same time, Dr Irving McIntyre has invited everyone for the much-anticipated Man Vs Broth cooking competition scheduled on June 15th at 6:00PM. He also shared that this year they will have special guests “Team Roseau Central”, entertainment, games and DJ Fire on music at the venue, Fond Camie.

Dominica is set for a weekend full of fun and thrilling events lined up, celebrating the pillars of their families.
