Barbados: The Ministry of Health and Wellness has announced the fogging schedule for the upcoming week. This will be implemented with the help of the Vector Control Unit to curb mosquitoes and enhance the safety of the residents of St George.
Beginning from 6 August, Tuesday the teams will first visit Cottage Heights, Cottage Crescent, Market Hill, Bridge Cot Terrace, Old Post Office Road, Cottage Court West via avenues, Moon Shine Close, and St Helen.
Following which the Vector Unit will cover Neils Road, Salters, Charles Rowe Bridge, Salters Link Road, Lower Estate Road, Bell Road, Foster Hall, Airy Hill Road, Flat Rock Housing Area, and Rowans Drive on August 7, Wednesday.
The spray schedule for Thursday, August 8 shared the following areas which include Rowans Park, Foster Hall, Exchange, Valley Land, Glebe Land Nos. 1 to 5, Rowans Park East with avenues, Rowans Park South with avenues, Walkers Park East, Frank Avenue, Thorpe’s Cottage, and Walkers Close.
The Ministry shared that the fogging exercise for the week will conclude on Friday, August 9. On the last day of the week, the targeted areas will include Rock Hall, Taitt Hill, Valley View, Glebe Garden, Glebe Land, Valley Land, Valley Development Nos. 1 to 3, Salters, and surrounding areas.
Further, the authorities informed us that fogging will take place from 4:30 PM to 8:30 PM each day.
It is to be noted that all the residents must open their windows and doors to allow the spray to enter their properties, which will decrease the chances of breeding inside their homes.
Also, the children should be strictly not allowed to play outside while the spray is being done.
Further, the public is advised that the completion of scheduled fogging activities may be affected by events that are beyond the control of the Unit. In such situations, the Unit will return to communities affected.
