Barbados: The Vector Control Unit in Barbados has announced the schedule for the upcoming fogging programme which will be held next week at the St. George and St. John, to make the surroundings safe and mosquito free.
As per the information shared, the Unit will visit both areas on Monday, July 22, and carry out the fogging exercise in Wakefield Road, Four Road, Lemon Arbour Village, Bayley Alley, Sweet Vale, Butcher Road, Brathwaite Road, and Golden Ridge.
The Vector team will also focus on St. George for the rest of the week. On Tuesday, July 23, the Unit will spray Paradise Village Nos. 1 to 3, Roach Village, Applewhaites, Lucas Hall Tenantry Road, Lucas Heights, Belair Nos.1 and 2, Upper Belair, Jericho, and its surrounding areas.
On Wednesday, Jul 24, the team will turn to Cottage Heights, Cottage Crescent, Grove Tenantry, Market Hill, Bridge Cot, Grove Cottage, Bridge Cot Terrace, Old Post Office Road, Cottage Court West, Cottage Crescent Drive, Moon Shine Close, and St. Helens.
The following districts will be sprayed the following day, Thursday, July 25: 1st and 2nd Lower Newbury, Newbury, Fusilier Road, Rose Hill, Taitt Hill, and Newbury Heights.
Following this, the fogging exercise for this week will conclude on Friday, July 26, in Salisbury, Hope Road, Free Hill, Workmans, and environs.
The additional details reveal that the fogging will take place from 4:30 PM to 8:30 PM every day. Also, the residents are advised to open their doors and windows that will allow the spray to enter their premises.
Notably, the children should be strictly kept inside and not allowed to play in the fog.
The Vector Unit states that the members of the public are advised that the completion of scheduled fogging activities may be affected by several events that are beyond the control of the Unit. If any such circumstances occur, the Unit will return to the affected communities as soon as they possibly could.
