Trinidad and Tobago: Despite the Microsoft outage that had left the world and several airports in panic. The Piarco International Airport in Trinidad and the ANR Robinson International Airport in Tobago remain functional during the time of the fiasco.
According to the information one United Airlines 1459 flight from Trinidad to Houston, Texas was the only flight affected. The flight which got delayed was scheduled to leave Piarco International Airport at 12:30AM but got cancelled due to the outage.
The reports reveal that everything was running as it should, also the authorities have been consistently on the high alert to identify and overcome any issue that could develop and they could work on it immediately.
Airports across the world were grappling with issues after the Microsoft outage, but the passengers are still facing several issues.
Also sharing the updates on the situation around the globe, the Associated Press stated that all the airports have been flooded with passengers waiting for check-in procedure to complete.
The update by cybersecurity firm CrowdStrike, resulted in the outage and disruption in Microsoft’s Windows systems worldwide. Although the systems went back online after few hours, but affected several financial institutions, hospitals, airlines and media channels also.
Globally over 2,300 flights have been cancelled, just in United States more than 1,300 flights got cancelled and over 3,200 were delayed.
In the Caribbean, Princess Juliana International Airport in St Maarten also reported flight disruptions.
But Trinidad and Tobago remained unaffected by the global outage, Trinidad and Tobago Electricity Commission (T&TEC) also shared that all the payment systems have starting functioning, while the world was still struggling.
T&TEC sharing the update on the situation said, that they have resolved the problem and all its online payment platforms are back to normal.
Further they advised, customers can therefore resume payments via Quick Pay and Customer Web Access (CWA). Also, the payments at Service Centres via card and cash are also being processed as normal.
