LIAT 2020 has successfully landed its inaugural flight to Grenada, developing its growing network of Caribbean destinations. The first flight was departed from Antigua and made a visit to St. Lucia before landing at the Maurice Bishop International Airport on September 21, 2024.
The government of Grenada warmly welcomed the revitalisation of this regional airline. These new routes will provide seamless connectivity for passengers traveling between Antigua, Barbados, St. Lucia, and Grenada, promoting business and tourism opportunities in these islands.
A new service added to the airline will make it possible for passengers to have affordable transport. Caribbean residents frequently depend on inter-island travel, and it is a great chance for residents to move around and visit their families or new destinations.
The representatives of the Grenada Tourism Authority honored the inauguration ceremony held by Director of Maintenance and Engineering Mr. Allan Alexander was welcomed with open arms by the Senator the Hon. Adrian Thomas, who is now a head of Minister for Tourism, the Creative Economy and Cultural industries of Grenada. The first flight was welcomed with a water cannon salute once it arrived in Grenada.
Other people present there were Grenada Airport Authority Ceo, Mr. Edgar Stephen, the head and Ceo of Grenada Tourism Authority, Ms. Petra Roach, and other local personalities, airport officers, and employees, representatives from the Grenada Tourism Authority.
