In a historic ceremony, Julien Alfred was proudly announced as the ‘Tourism Ambassador’ of the destination by the Saint Lucia Tourism Authority. Julien was given the title of ‘Fastest Women in the world’ for her stunning performance in the Paris Olympics 2024. In order to maintain the island’s profile and honor Julien, she was given this honorary position in her hometown.
The 23-year-old was very emotional because of the support and love she received from her country’s people. She formally accepted the role of ‘Tourism Ambassador’ to be the biggest supporter of her country. Many formal guests were present at the event to congratulate and honor the young girl for her excellent contributions to the field of sports.
While receiving the role of ‘Tourism Ambassador,’ Julien said, “Right now, I’m not sure which one means the most to me, winning the Olympic gold or just being an ambassador for Saint Lucia.” She was certain when she received the role that she would proudly serve her nation, as it matters a lot to her.
According to the Tourism Officials, the ambassadorship was arranged by the Minister of Tourism, Heritage, and Creative Industries. Julien talked about her gratefulness and how happy she is to do something for her country.
Her humbleness was shown by her choice of words when she proudly said, “I am a proud Saint Lucian, and it’s always an honor representing Saint Lucia on a global stage no matter where I go, and I will never switch my allegiance, ever.”
For her responsibilities as the ‘Tourism Ambassador,’ Julien Alfred will make personal appearances for collaborative campaigns with the associated agencies, including Invest Saint Lucia, the Cultural Development Foundation, the Events Company of Saint Lucia, and Export Saint Lucia.
It is expected that Julien Alfred will make her first appearance as the Tourism Ambassador in the World Travel Market in November. She will also be interviewed across mediums and appear in advertising campaigns and collateral materials on the official website of Saint Lucia’s Tourism Authority.
After receiving so much love and recognition from her country’s people, Julien became emotional during the ceremony. She emotionally expressed her view by saying, “I was just a young girl from Ciceron, just trying to find her way, figure out life as she goes along, just not knowing where she would end up.”
After becoming the Brand Ambassador, she said, “Now, being an ambassador for such a beautiful country with lovely people as well, I just feel so honored right now, and it warms my heart, and I just feel blessed to be able to represent a nation of lovely people.”
Julien Alfred was grateful to all the guests who were present at the ceremony. She thanked everyone for making their presence and increasing her confidence.
