Roseau, Dominica: The advisory for flash flooding has been issued for Dominica with the chance of fair to occasionally cloudy weather on Thursday. As per the met department, the weather is likely to remain slightly hazy with brief scattered showers.
According to Dominica Met Service, the winds are expected to flow with speed of 10 to 30km/h with higher gusts. The width will remain 1.5 to 2.0 metres to 7.0 feet.
On Friday, the partly cloudy to cloudy weather has been predicted for Dominica with scattered showers and possible isolated thunderstorms by afternoon. The met department added that the weather will not pose any threat to the country, but rainfall and scattered downpours are likely to happen and spread inclement conditions.
The winds are likely to flow with a speed of 10 to 30km/h with higher gusts and bring rainfall on several occasions. The chances of flash flooding is low and the weather conditions will bring higher gusts with other occasional showers.
On Saturday, the chances of the threat are low as the level is yellow for the weather conditions in the latest advisory of the met department. The weather will remain mostly cloudy with scattered showers and possible thunderstorms during the morning.
The wind speed will remain 15 to 30 km/h with higher gusts and the rainfall could lead to the minor flooding across the region.
Recently, Dominica has passed the threat of the Tropical Storm Ernesto which has brought heavy rainfall and severe thunderstorms. The Tropical Storm Warning had also been issued for the country amid the conditions of the heavy rainfall and powerful winds.
However, the tropical storm Ernesto did not caused any significant damage to the island and the met department also issued all clear notice for Dominica with its passage.
Tropical Storm is the fifth storm of the 2024 Atlantic Hurricane Season which is underway in Caribbean and brought the devastation of the first hurricane called Beryl. Due to the hurricane, St Vincent and the Grenadines, Grenada and Jamaica were destroyed and the recovery has not been done yet.
