Roseau, Dominica: The government of Dominica is all set to announce the 2024/2025 budget today at 10:00 AM at the House of Assembly. This time the allocated budget will be $ 1.4 Billion. The budget will be presented by Dr Irving McIntyre who is the minister of finance, economic development, climate resilience and social security.
The inaugural address to Parliament will be delivered by President Sylvanie Burton D.A.H.
The proposed expenditure estimate for the financial year ending June 30, 2025, is EC$1,486,951,793.00.
Updating about the borrowing authorization, Parliament will seek approval to borrow funds through an overdraft from financial institutions.
Additionally, there is a request for approval for an extra credit facility from the International Development Association (IDA) to fund the Emergency Agricultural Livelihoods and Climate Resilience Project.
Further, a resolution to amend the Value Added Tax (VAT) schedule will be discussed.
