Trinidad and Tobago: The tropical waves are forecast to affect Trinidad and Tobago next week with the high wind speed and thunderstorm. A new tropical disturbance will bring heavy rainfall and other waterspout activities across the southern areas.

As per the current weather conditions, the cluster of fast-moving moderate to heavy showers will affect the areas across westward and central Trinidad. The tropical wave will also bring occasional showers and isolated thunderstorm, aiming to bring partly cloudy skies.

The chances of flash flooding and heavy rainfall is also predicted for these areas due to the heavy downpours and gusty winds.

Weather in Caribbean region is disturbing the daily means of the livelihoods of their citizens by affecting the water, electricity and other supplies. Even in this tough time, the flash flooding has also been restricting them to their homes and disrupting their working life.

Due to the geographical locations of the Caribbean countries, people become victims of natural disasters and lose their homes. The daily workers have faced disruption in their financial resources and lose the means of earning amid the flooding situation.

The local community including tour guides, taxi drivers and other tourist stakeholders also faces setbacks due to nature’s fury as the tourist arrival totally fades during such weather conditions. However, the small island developing states are not responsible for all disturbing weather conditions as the carbon emission is the major cause behind this.

Ironically, these small states are not even 1% contributor of the carbon emission and they faced 100% of its consequences. The developed world which is the largest contributor of the carbon footprints have never recognized their responsibility and took stand for the small states in the tough situation.

The leaders in the countries have voiced for the strategic climate action, but no action is being taken by the developed world to control the situation. The consequences have been faced by the Caribbean countries as they are being devastated by the Hurricanes and Tropical Storm.

Heavy flooding and rainfall impacts the Caribbean region every year with the Atlantic Hurricane Season.
