Antigua and Barbuda: A potential formation of the new Tropical Cyclone has been posing threats to the Caribbean region. Amid the Tropical Depression, the island nation has been struggling with inclement weather conditions.
The chances of heavy rainfall and severe thunderstorms have been generated due to the tropical wave. The wave has the potential to bring rainfall and other inclement conditions in several countries of the Caribbean region including Trinidad and Tobago, Antigua and Barbuda, and the Bahamas.
Tropical Storm Debby has caused destruction in Florida, Georgia, and several other parts of the United States. It is now moving towards the Caribbean region, but the Met Department outlined that the intensity of the storm will get weaker across the region.
However, the formation of the cyclone could pose a threat to the parts of the region as the Caribbean region has been facing the impact of the tropical wave. The condition is expected to become more conducive for development afterward and the threat of the tropical depression will be there for Lesser Antilles.
In the coming days, the system is forecasted to move the waves across the west-northwestward and the chances of the cyclone could be increased. The weather is posing new threats to the Caribbean region and the citizens are asked to remain cautious as it could be tough for the low-lying areas amid the chances of severe flooding and heavy rainfall.
The 2024 Atlantic Hurricane Season is underway in the Caribbean region due to which the countries have been facing bad weather conditions. Hurricane Beryl was one of the results of the season that has destroyed the Caribbean countries including Grenada, St Vincent and the Grenadines, Saint Lucia and Jamaica.
The countries have been struggling in recovery efforts; however, they received the support for their relief packages. The leaders of these countries also slammed the world leaders for their lack of support and efforts for climate action which is the prime cause behind such miseries.
