Trinidad and Tobago: Orders issued by the Minister of Homeland Security to arrest the suspected, wanted criminal of the gang La Romaine is now detained by the officials after the police allegedly discovered a firearm and ammunition at his residence.

According to police reports around 5 p.m. on Sunday, an anti-crime exercise along Charles Street, La Romaine, was conducted by the officers including Sgt. Seecharan, Cpl. Huggins, and PCs Ramsaroop and others from the Southern Division Operations.

The further reports claimed that the Enquiries Unit was also there as a part of the operation, when they noticed a group of men. After that they stopped and decided to search all of them as they were suspicious.

Upon searching them, they identified one of the previous offenders known as Kirk Moze, who was previously detained for the possession of 120 grams of marijuana. Along with this he was also charged for the crimes including firearm, narcotics, and robbery.

Authorities stated that after that on suspicion they immediately went to the apartment of the suspect at Sirju Trace, Rambert Village, where they conducted a search. After searching his premises they recovered a .38 Special revolver.

They further stated that then the officers seized the weapon and arrested Moze formally and charged him for the possession of firearms and ammunition.

Additionally they also presented him before the San Fernando Ajimpa Court before the Master Denicia Bethelmy, where the justice reserved his plea. Moreover the justice also ordered to keep the suspect in police custody until November 24, 2025.

The authorities also emphasised that “The crime rate in the nation has increased to another level whether it is a murder, robbery, illegal possession of firearms or any other thing, and to combat that we are doing everything we can.” They also stated that “from now on we are taking small but impactful steps which can help us ‘the governments as well as the people’ to stop the ongoing crimes.”
