St Kitts and Nevis: The retired Government Auxiliary Employees (GAEs) are all set to receive payment of pensions tomorrow with a special event in St Kitts and Nevis. The payment will be provided to the selected number of GAEs, and other payments being made after.
The government of St Kitts and Nevis announced the requirements for the commencement of pension payments for qualified Government Auxiliary Employees (GAEs).
As per the first requirement, the payment will be paid to the former GAEs who worked for at least 15 years and retired after May 18, 2012.
The workers who are 62 years old will get monthly pension payments and the payment will begin immediately. The back payment of these workers has started from January 2024. On the other hand, the workers who are under 62 will get the monthly pension payment when they turn 62.
Along with that, if they died before age 62, then the beneficiary will get the pension of one year. Pension query forms are available at Government Headquarters and Accountant General Department.
Prime Minister Dr Terrance Drew expressed pleasure and said that the pension payments will facilitate the workers as the government will ensure that the GAEs will receive exactly what they worked for over the years.
The workers who have contributed a minimum of fifteen years of service are eligible for pension payments. He added that with the event, the hundreds of the workers will benefit and the number will increase to thousands over the period of time.
Prime Minister Drew noted that he feels a sense of pride in knowing that government will assist the workers who have contributed great to St Kitts and Nevis. He said that the pension payment is the appreciation for the service of the workers over the years.
The workers including crossing guards, the environmental workers, messengers, drivers, technicians and so forth. The administration of St Kitts and Nevis will provide them with their deserving pension.
