Kingston, Jamaica: Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce, three time Olympic gold medallist Sprinter has been honoured by her long time sponsor, Nike. The brand has placed a banner outside their headquarters to celebrate the athlete.
The banner, which is currently being hoisted outside Nike’s World Headquarters in Oregon, has a picture display of one of her moments of victories. It has her words “Been there, won that” on it.
Ahead of the Olympic Games opening ceremony in Paris, Pryce, also the 10-time world champion is among the one selected from group.
This time it will be her fifth Olympic Games and she has been training hard to win the title. Also, the sprint legend is set to compete with the best in the world for her fifth Olympic Games in Paris. She is among the 32 women that have been announced for the Jamaican team.
Fraser-Pryce has also shared that she will announce retire after the games. Sharing this update with an international magazine she shared that she is forcing herself to retire at the age of 37 to spend more time with her family.
She further stated that her son needs her, and she and her husband have been together since 2008. She shared that her husband has sacrificed a lot for her, and now she thinks she owes them to do something else.
She further shared that she wants to finish on her own terms. Additionally, Fraser-Pryce won eight Olympic medals, including 100-meter gold in 2008 in Beijing and 2012 in London, and a Tokyo Olympic title as part of Jamaica’s 4×100 relay.
Her medal list also includes silver at 100m in Tokyo and 200m in London plus a 2016 Rio 100m bronze.
She also won 100m world titles in the year 2009, 2013, 2015, 2019 and 2022 plus a 200 world crown in 2013 and 4×100 relay golds in 2009, 2013, 2015 and 2019.
