Important issues such as healthcare, climate change, and education were the central focus of the Roundtable Conference.
Prime Minister Terrance Drew recently had a Roundtable Conference in St. Kitts and Nevis, where he had an important discussion with the country’s ministries and the media. This conference talked about the visits of Prime Minister Drew in recent months. Also, this conference covered various topics of national interest in the country, such as healthcare, renewable energy, climate change, education, etc.
PM Drew talked about the 79th United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) that took place to talk about the need for sustainable peace zones, international support for Haiti, and global inclusion, which were in line with the Assembly’s theme of “leaving no one behind.” PM Drew had four important sessions in New York, and his discussion with the CCCD group was the most important. The CCCD group talked about various important issues in the country, such as healthcare and safety.
Prime Minister Drew made an important statement: “I thanked the UN Diaspora Engagement Summit of Future, which focused on climate change action and multilateral cooperation. Together, we are working to improve on these two major factors.” Further in his speech, PM Drew talked about the present situation in the USA.
He said that the United States of America (USA) is facing a second major hurricane. After the disaster of the Hurricane that took place in mid of the year, Grenada and various other countries have not yet fully recovered. He talked about the necessary funding that they are asking from America to help sort out various issues.
PM Drew also made an important visit to the UN AIDS event, where they discussed the critical disease of HIV AIDS. He made an important remark at the event where he urged the countries to come together and raise funds for all those people who are HIV positive and reduce the danger of it spreading to children. While talking about this, PM Drew proudly said, “St. Kitts and Nevis are free from HIV AIDS, and there’s no worry about it affecting the population of the nation.”
Prime Minister Drew met the Saudi Foreign Minister, where he talked about opening an Embassy in Saudi Arabia. He also thanked the Saudi Ministers for helping St. Kitts and Nevis with the 80 Megawatts generators that will help with electrical issues in the country. He expressed his happiness after he met the great people of the world.
PM Drew also made a visit to the Pan American Health Organisation to deal with important issues such as violence in public health and crime.
While ending the Roundtable Conference, Prime Minister Drew thanked all the media persons for sparing their time for this session. He said, “I will always work for the country. I hope every person of St. Kitts and Nevis, Despite being a man or woman, a boy or girl, will work for the betterment of the country.”
