Hanover, Jamaica: The authorities have imposed a 48-hour curfew in several sections of Green Island, Hanover. The curfew started at 6:00 PM on July 18 and is said to be in effect till 6:00 PM on July 20.
The authorities have also shared the boundaries of the curfew which must be followed by all the residents strictly.
North Boundary: Starts at Orange Bay Square along the highway to the small bridge beside Lobster Smoke House.
East Boundary: Along an imaginary line from the small bridge beside Lobster Smoke House to March Town Square.
South Boundary: Beginning from March Town Road along an imaginary line through the Dam Road district to the entrance of Dam Road.
West Boundary: From the entrance to Dam Road district along the main road to Orange Bay Square.
The police officials have revealed that during the period of the curfew, the residents of the area living within its boundaries are advised to remain inside their home. There are few exceptions which will only be considered if authorised by the ground commander.
Moreover, earlier also a curfew was imposed in the similar area from July 12 and it remained in effect until July 14, Sunday.
Prime Minister Andrew Holness has also shared during the parliament session that the government will allocate $1 billion to the people who have suffered from home damage by either relocating, renovating or reconstructing the houses.
