Dominica: Prime Minister Dr Roosevelt Skerrit and other Cabinet members have just concluded the month long 46th Independence Anniversary celebrations of Dominica with the national parade on November 3.

Taking to Facebook earlier this week, the Prime Minister shared a series of snapshots from the celebrations, including the sweetest video of her daughter Bella as she got dressed in her national wear on the occasion of Independence on November 3.

The little girl was seen dressed in a beautiful attire and was flaunting her dress while gracefully dancing. Bella, nine, looked just like her mother Melissa Poponne Skerrit who serves as the Housing Minister of Dominica. The girl has beautiful curly hair and she paired her attire with a neckpiece and headpiece.

PM Skerrit captioned the video, “Flashback to my beautiful Bella in her national wear on Independence Day (along with a smiling face with hearts emoji).”

Meanwhile, the netizens went crazy over the cuteness and gracefulness of the young girl, with several of them commenting, ‘She is a great dancer,’ ‘Beautiful young lady,’ and several other appreciative lines for the youngster.

“She is so adorable. I met her, your son and wife, for the first time in person. Your family is indeed stunning,“ said a user named Ya Yan David, while another user said, “She’s so adorable, and she carries her wob with confidence.“

Another glimpse shared by the Prime Minister were from the Independence Day Observance Ceremony which took place on Sunday, November 3, 2024 at the Windsor Park Sports Stadium.

It was attended by all members of the Cabinet and a nunmber of local residents and citizens with Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit and President Sylvanie Burton addressing the attendees and celebrating the resilience and unity of the Commonwealth of Dominica.

In his speech, PM Skerrit redefined Independence, embraced bold leadership and talked about steering Dominica toward a future of prosperity and pride.

He explained that Independence today means a call to action for the future of Dominicans and it means being confident in the abilities, bold in the decisions and wise in the leaderships.

Not only this, but he also honoured the deserving individuals of Dominica, including athlete Thea Lafond, who secured the island’s first gold at the Olympic Games. He further honoured cricketers Kavem Hodge and Alick Athanaze for their exceptional performances at international cricket matches and making Dominica proud and putting it on the world stage throughout this season.
