St Kitts and Nevis superstar Byron Messia took the musical world of St Kitts and Nevis to a greater stature by winning not one but two accolades at the Caribbean Music Awards 2024.  Byron Messia has been a globally recognised performer. He has worked internationally and made his place in the international music industry by receiving two of the most important awards at the 2024 Caribbean Music Awards.

The artist won the ‘Collaboration of the Year’ award for his successful song Talibans with Burna Boy, which is one of the most landmarking achievements of his career, reaching number 99 on the US Billboard Hot 100 and receiving a gold certification from the British Phonographic Industry (BPI). He also received the ‘Dancehall Song of the Year’ title for his most popular title track, Talibans with Burna Boy, making him one of the well-admired leading singer-artists of Caribbean Music.  The admirable win of Byron Messia at the Caribbean Music Awards is a proud moment for St. Kitts and Nevis; his accomplishments are the best example of artists from small Caribbean nations working hard and getting support from the community in their musical journey.

In a recent interview held in London, Byron Messia opened up about his transition from the small island of St. Kitts to an international sensation.  He discussed the difficulties he went through as an artist from a less well-known area and expressed his gratitude for the support and recognition he has received from the international stage.  He also mentioned that coming from a lesser-known music background and working harder than any other average artist to receive all the attention and love from international stages is very fulfilling and great.

Messiah also talked about the artists he used to look up to, INFAMOUS, Nicha B Highlight, and I-Mark. He shared the influence of local music heroes in his musical journey and thanked all the people who supported and inspired him in his music journey.  He gave a remarkable shout-out to his first producer, Shetty Stainless, who gave him his first stage and beat for his debut track in 2017.

Receiving two prestigious awards at such a recognised platform is not only just a personal feat for him but also bringing limelight to the music of St Kitts and Nevis on an International platform.
