More than 20 cruises which were set to depart for the 2027 summer season were cancelled by Royal Caribbean. The Cruise line shared the information of cruise cancellations to passengers through email this week. The trips were originally set to depart from May to September 2027.
The Royal Caribbean Blog along with The Travel mentioned that all the Freedom of the Seas cruises were cancelled. These changes have been announced due to the company’s ongoing itinerary planning process.
The company mentioned new changes will be based on demand, capacity and requirements of the passengers. The cruise line had decided to redeploy Freedom of the Seas’ cancelled cruises to Southampton in 2027. All details about the sailings and available options will be shared directly with guests and travel partners.
The details of cancelled cruises are
- 9-night from Aruba to Curaçao
- 5-night sailings to the Dominican Republic
- Perfect Day at Cococay
- 4-night voyages to the Bahamas.
According to the Royal Caribbean outlet they are providing alternative options of travel to impacted guests. The first option is to automatically move them to the Wonder of the Seas which depart from Miami and sail for four nights. Other options are to choose Adventure of the Seas voyages for 5-night and 3-night, and choose Jewel of the Seas.
Passengers who are not satisfied with the new itinerary change of Royal Caribbean will receive a full refund from the cruise line which they have paid for the cruise fare, including prepaid amenities.
The information of The Royal Caribbean cancellations came after Carnival Cruise Line cancelled their 11 sailings Carnival Firenze ship which was assigned to depart in the fall of 2026. Also the Carnival Firenze was scheduled between October 12, to November 16.
Additionally, Carnival Firenze also gives their passengers similar options like Royal Caribbean to rebook another cruise or receive a full refund for their canceled trip.
