Virgin Atlantic has announced an increase in flights to Antigua, Barbados, and Cape Town in South Africa. It is to be noted that Virgin Atlantic is also reducing flights to the Bahamas, Turks, and Caicos early next year.

The company has shared the information that flights from London Heathrow to Turks and Caicos will stop on February 21. Additionally, after two days, on February 23, the service to the Bahamas from Heathrow will end.

Also to compensate, the organisation is contacting all the customers who have already booked their flights. Either they will be booked to other flights or will be refunded.

A spokesperson from the Virgin Atlantic stated that as the company is continuously increasing the network and they have been regularly reviewing the destinations they will be flying to.

Following the evaluation the airline has decided to add more flights to Antigua, Barbados, and Cape Town next year and it will stop flying to the Bahamas and Turks and Caicos.

The spokesperson apologized the customers those who wanted to fly to the Bahamas and Turks and Caicos. He further added that “If you have a flight booked to the Bahamas after February 24 or to Turks and Caicos after February 22, we will get in touch with you to discuss your options.”

Currently, the Virgin flies to the Bahamas three times a week and to Turks and Caicos twice a week.

Significantly, this addition in flights to Antigua will begin from October 28, 2024. This will be done by increasing the flights from once a week to four times a week, this will continue until the end of April. Virgin will also add more flights to Barbados, going from seven to ten flights a week.

This update was also reshared by Gaston Browne, Prime Minister of Antigua and Barbuda on his official Facebook Page.

Simultaneously, the announcement revealed that Virgin Atlantic will keep flying to Cape Town for one more month. This means that it will be done by extending the service until April 30.
