Guyana: An uncle stabbed his nephew to death on Thursday at Fly Hill, North Rupunni in Guyana over the small fight about the stealing of the cattle. As per the reports, the victim, suspect, suspect’s brother and another farmer friend gathered at street corner and consumed Black Stone run.
The location was 50 meters away from their homes and four of them gathered to spend some free time drinking rum. After some time, victim’s farmer have left the gathering and went home, leaving the victim, the suspect and the suspect’s brother still hanging out at the same location with each other.
On Thursday morning, the farmer friend added that he was awoken by a loud noise in which they were fighting with each other. All of them were quarrelling after the brothers accused the victim of stealing their cows. The farmer friend overheard their heated argument and said that after the fight, the victim walked away from the brothers and went home.
At the location, the suspect brothers sat on a bench on the outer part of his one-storey flat house, after which he retired back to bed. After some time, 22-year-old was again awoken by the victim’s voice as he started shouting for help.
The farmer friend added that he came out of the house for the help of the victim, but when he came out, he saw the nephew lying down on the ground. He also saw that the suspect walked away from the yard with a knife in his hand.
He further provided the information and noted that he immediately took the knife away from the suspect, who then made escape. The incident came into notice of the Police who were inspecting the suspect.
The body of the victim has been shifted to the Lethem Regional Hospital’s mortuary and now, police are waiting for a Post-Mortem Examination. Police officials stated that the investigation has been launched into the matter.
