Bahamas: The warning for the severe thunderstorm has been issued for the Bahamas due to the chances of the heavy rainfall and cloudy weather conditions. The weather will further pose threats to the country with showers and lighting.
Some of the showers will be locally heavy and the thunderstorms are likely to appear strong to severe at times in the southern area of the Bahamas. The tropical waves will also produce showers and thunderstorms in the country due to the stormy conditions.
The situation of the flooding is also likely to happen in the Bahamas due to the heavy rainfall as the waters will pose threat to the strollers. The Boaters in the warning areas should also seek a safe harbour as the residents in the warning area should remain indoors and away from windows when conditions worsen.
The Met Department noted the dangerous lightning, heavy downpours and other conditions of the weather. The residents should not seek shelter under trees or in the water as these can become lightning conductors.
The maximum sustained winds are near 50 miles as per the weather updates due to which the thunderstorm will bring inclement conditions. The Tropical Wave is likely to become a tropical depression by this afternoon and the derby should then merge with a front and become extratropical on Friday.
The 2024 Atlantic Hurricane Season is underway in the Caribbean region and the small island states are once again under the threat of natural calamities. Every day, warnings or watches are issued by the met department amid inclement conditions as the weather is not stable across the region.
The Tropical Storm Deby has been moving towards the Caribbean and the Bahamas is also under threat because of the inclement conditions and other sustained winds.
Now, the Deby should then merge with a front and become strong on Friday amid these conditions.
