Trinidad and Tobago: Another incident of killing in Trinidad and Tobago occurred near a bar in San Fernando around 6:10 PM yesterday.
In the latest incident, a man identified as Jason ‘Hakka’ Stoute was killed after a confrontation at Mucurapo Street. The deceased is said to be a resident of Duncan Village, San Fernando.
The police officials were informed that Stoute was inside the bar at Mucurapo Street, where he got involved in an argument with a man. The confrontation soon turned into a physical fight, during which the suspect took out a knife from his waist and attacked Stoute’s chest with it.
After the attack, the suspect escaped the scene while the people at the bar informed the police and emergency health services about the incident.
However, shortly after, Stoute succumbed to his wounds. Officers of the Southern Division and the Homicide Bureau reached the site and are continuing the investigation.
Several similar cases have been reported on the same day. Hours before the attack on Stoute, a 33-year-old named Denzil Brewster, a resident of Princes Town, was stabbed at Lord Street in San Fernando in a similar situation.
During that incident, a 24-year-old at the bar tried to intervene to calm down the situation and was also injured. The victim is a police officer who was off duty at that time.
However, the officer was taken for medical treatment, but Brewster died there after being stabbed. The suspect, in that case, is currently on the run.
The police officials have advised the residents to report immediately in such situation and also share the information of the suspects that could lead to arrests.
The residents are concerned about their safety and security after the sudden rise in stabbing incidents in the region.
