St Vincent and the Grenadines is all geared up to host the ICC T20 Men’s World Cup cricket matches from 13th June 2024 to 24th June 2024. Ahead of the matches, the administration has prohibited the operation of drones during the matches.
According to the information shared by the Ministry of Tourism, Civil Aviation, Sustainable Development and Culture of SVG, the administration has decided to prohibit the usage/operation of drones as part of the security measures for the upcoming international cricket matches.
The release notifies that no individual, entity or organisation is allowed to operate Drones over any stadium or any similar type of facility. The similar condition is applicable on all the public gatherings.
The administration has reminded the public that a written permission from the Civil Aviation Department is mandatory for anybody wiling to operate the Drone during the ICC T20 Men’s World Cup in any of the vicinity as well.
The prohibition on Drone is applicable on the Amos Vale Stadium and its nearby areas from 13th June 2024 to 24th June 2024.
This restriction has been implemented to keep a check and ensure the safety and security of the players, spectators, general public and officials. Also, the Ministry has revealed that this would help in smooth conduct of the matches.
In the previous incidents of breach, it has come into light that Drones can possess a certain amount of risk, which includes collision and distraction. Another factor is that the personal drones might interfere amidst the operation of official broadcasting partners.
Following is the schedule of ICC T20 Men’s World Cup matches to be played at the St Vincent and the Grenadines.
June 13: Bangladesh vs Netherlands at Arnos Vale Stadium, St Vincent at 10.30 am.
June 14: South Africa vs Nepal at Arnos Vale Stadium, St Vincent at 7.30 pm.
June 16: Bangladesh vs Nepal at Arnos Vale Ground, Arnos Vale, St Vincent at 7:30 pm.
June 22: Match 8: C1 vs B2 at Arnos Vale Ground, Arnos Vale, St Vincent at 8.30 pm.
June 24: Match 12: C1 vs D2 at Arnos Vale Ground, Arnos Vale, St Vincent at 8.30 pm.
