The announcement that St Vincent and the Grenadines is expecting a busy 2024-2025 cruise tourism season was made by the CEO of the SVG Tourism Authority, Annette Mark, while speaking at a media cocktail at the Grenadines Wharf to launch the 2024/25 tourist season.
She said that the first ship that called at Kingstown was Mein Schiff 2 which arrived on November 6 and it was a German ship bringing around 3000 tourists to the island and officially kicking off the cruise season for St Vincent.
The Port of Kingstown was bustling with huge activity on Wednesday as the thousand of passengers disembarked and explored the island with several of them participating in local excursions and contributing to the overall economy of St Vincent and the Grenadines.
The cruise passengers were also welcomed with local performers dancing while wearing an attire of the colour of the national flag, giving them a taste of the local culture and traditions.
Mark said that the country is also working on improving its overall tourism offerings to provide the visitors with the best available services.
