St Kitts and Nevis welcomes 6 cruises, bringing over 18,000 Passengers

St Kitts and Nevis welcomed six cruises simultaneously to the shores of the country on Tuesday, bringing more than 18,000 passengers to the island nation.

The vessels that were docked at the shores of the country included, Aida Perla, Celebrity Apex, Crystal Serenity, lcon of the Seas, Seabourn Ovation, and Star Pride.

The vessels berthed at Port Zante and Carambola Beach Club respectively. All the passengers onboard the vessels were offered an opportunity to explore the natural beauty, pristine beaches, lush rainforests and vibrant culture and traditions of the country.

Shedding light on the arrival of 6 cruises to the country, Prime Minister Terrance Drew expressed excitement and called it a major milestone for the tourism sector of the nation.

He added that this remarkable achievement shed light on the continued progress of their cruise industry and the growing opportunities it is creating for the local community.

The Prime Minister asserted that it is not just fueling economic growth but also supporting their stakeholders, leading the economic conditions of the country to greater heights.

“Today, we welcome six cruise ships, including the world’s largest, Icon of the Seas. This symbolizes jobs and a strong tourism sector. Tourism is on the move,” noted PM Terrance Drew.

Moreover, the country also welcomed the inaugural visit by Explorer II to Port Zante on Monday, 2nd December, 2024. The captain, crew members and all the passengers were given a warm and prestigious welcome by all the attendees.


The CEO of the St Kitts Tourism Authority, Kelly Fontenelle expressed her excitement on the arrival of the cruise ship. She said that the first ever visit by the vessel to the country shed light on their commitment to elevate the tourism sector to greater heights.

She added that they are making significant efforts with a vision to promote sustainable tourism practices in the country and share the best of the country with all its passengers.

The CEO further added that they are committed to maintaining its position as a preferred destination for all the leading cruise lines.
