The Department of Marine Resources of St Kitts and Nevis is all set to host an exciting, engaging and insightful week of activities to celebrate World Fisheries Day and Marine Expo. All these activities will be conducted from 17th – 24th November, 2024, aiming to promote sustainability and healthy marine life.
This week filled with activities will be conducted in recognition of the World Fisheries Day that is celebrated globally on November 21st. It shed light on the crucial role of healthy oceans and fisheries for food security and community livelihoods.
The authorities will host several activities including, workshops, exhibitions, music shows, aiming to eliminate illegal fishing and foster balance in the ecosystem, healthy oceans and surroundings. The Ministry stated that they are committed to honour the dedication of their fishers by diving everyone into the festivities and offer them plethora of experiences.
The main purpose behind the celebration of the World Fisheries Day is to ensure sustainable fisheries stocks. The authorities said that they are committed to preserve ecosystems and provide a balanced food source for the country.

The Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Marine Resources of St Kitts and Nevis has extended an invitation to all the citizens to celebrate a week-long celebration. He asked all the citizens to dive into an exciting lineup of activities to celebrate the rich marine heritage of St Kitts and Nevis.
