Saint Lucia Kings will have homecoming celebrations after their grand victory in the Caribbean Premier League 2024.
The St. Lucia Kings won their first Caribbean Premier League (CPL) title on 6 October 2024 by defeating the defending champions, Guyana Amazon Warriors. It was after 11 years of waiting that the Kings made their mark on board. The great fifth-wicket partnership between Roston Chase and Aaron Jones led the team to win their first-ever CPL title.
The Championship Motorcade event will take place after the team’s arrival. It will have the government officials, the Saint Lucia cricket committee, and the coach of St. Lucia Kings, Daren Sammy. The audience will give a grand welcome to the team. Skipper Faf du Plessis and other team members will be honored during the rally and concert.
After this great victory, there will be various celebrations for the champions in their hometown. These will consist of a ‘Welcome Reception’ at the George FL Charles Airport at 1 pm along with a Celebratory Concert at Derek Walcott Square that is scheduled at 2:30 pm. The last and much-awaited event will be the ‘Championship Motorcade,’ which will be held from the SAB Playing Field to the Millet Playing Field. There will be a huge rally consisting of fans and people of Saint Lucia.
The rally will end at Millet Playing Field, where the musical performances of the local artists will take place. The team will walk across the streets of Saint Lucia with their CPL trophy, which will land in the country for the first time after the win.

It is expected that there will be a huge gathering in the welcome of the Saint Lucia Kings team. Several preparations have been made for the welcome of the champions. Various ministries and guests are expected to receive the players from the airport.
The CPL 2024 match ended with a great win for the Kings. The whole stadium was filled with fans of both teams. There was an emotional moment after the match when the Kings lifted the trophy in front of a huge crowd. All the players were happy and emotional after the win.
Skipper du Plessis, the top batsman of Saint Lucia Kings, said after the match, “It has been special. We have been really consistent throughout the competition. It was a superb final; we had a lot of ebbs and flows; at one stage, I thought it was time to go pack our bags. But right through the tournament, we kept saying that we believed a lot about the depth of the squad.”
