St. Kitts and Nevis Prime Minister Terrance Drew had a meeting with former Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, Tony Blair. The discussion was focused on 21st-century issues like global leadership and development. The Prime Minister of St. Kitts and Nevis, Terrance Drew exchanged views and perceptions ranging from international relations to global challenges. The meeting soon converted into an intriguing talk as the PM congratulated Blair on the publication of his new book.

Terrance Drew expressed his heartfelt admiration for the leadership legacy of Tony Blair. He thanked him for his continued contribution towards policy-making and governance. The two had an extensive meeting where they elaborately discussed on development of tourism, agriculture, and business.

This meeting is also an effort for the PM to strengthen the foreign relations of  St. Kitts and Nevis. The discussions changed turns as the PM stated on the surreal natural beauty of St. Kitts and Nevis. He wholeheartedly welcomed the UK netizens to visit the islands to have a never before experience of nature and adventure. Later conversations turned into diplomatic alliances between the island country and the UK Prime Minister.

Both leaders didn’t leave the non-negotiable issues regarding climate change and how it can be solved with technology. Small Caribbean islands are sensitive to the rise in sea level. Therefore, various energy-conserving strategies should be implemented to grow the island as a sustainable tourist destination. This made a pathway for investors to invest in the island’s infrastructure and tourism industries. Such projects are aimed at establishing Caribbean-UK cooperation in global challenges and facing them with effective strategies.

PM Terrence didn’t miss out on congratulating Blair on his latest book as well. He signed a copy for PM Terrence and they soon started on with their conversations. PM stated his appreciation for sharing the insights he has gathered as a leader to share with the world.

Prime Minister Terrance Drew took to his social media and wrote, “I had the opportunity to meet with Sir Tony Blair, former Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, and we engaged in a meaningful discussion on several pertinent topics. He presented me with his latest book – “On Leadership: Lessons for the 21st Century”, and I congratulate him on this significant milestone.”

Prime Minister Drew also recently took part in the 79th session of the UN General Assembly’s General Debate. He outlined the difficulties that the small island states face and pointed out that they are at a turning point and cannot afford to take a pass on taking no action.

He also met with United Arab Emirates Envoy Omar Shehadeh while ensuring a strong bond between the UAE and the Caribbean. In multiple meetings, the Prime Minister has focused on several key issues that should be addressed with good international policies.
