Jamaica: The retail prices of the gas and diesel have been declined in Jamaica with significant changes to the price of the products. Effective Thursday, the motorists will be asked to pay $1.17 less for petroleum products when they go to the pumps.
According to the new prices, the product E-10 87 will cost $177.80 per litre with a decline of $1.17 in the cost. This has marked the relief to the people as the product will provide decline to the cost several other things such as cooking products.
Further, the price of the E-10 90 will be $185.81 per litre, as per the new price adjustments, marking a decline of $1.17 per litre. The prices were announced by the state-owned oil refinery, Petrojam.
The price of automotive diesel, kerosene and propane have also been unveiled, marking decline in all of them. As per the prices, the automotive diesel oil will move down by $1.08 per litre with the new price standing at $178.03.
Automotive kerosene will also cost less to motorists due to the decline in the price by $3.06 per litre. The new adjustments stated that the kerosene will ask to pay $176.12 per litre to the customers across Jamaica.
The price of propane has also showcased the decline of $0.69 per litre with new cost of $176.12 per litre at the pumps from today onwards. Now, the Butane will move down by $0.25 per litre as the new price will be $80.97 per litre.
Retailers are asked to add their mark-ups to the announced prices.
Notably, the decline in the prices comes after the sudden hike at the pumps last week. As per the last adjustment, the product E-10 90 has increased to $186.97 per litre, while E-10 87 have also spiked to $178.97.
In the diesel, the price of the product increased from $179.11, and Kerosene also stood at $179.18 per litre.
However, the new prices have not satisfied the public as they reacted and said that the update is not reflected into the pumps. One added,”Prices being dropped but pumps not reflecting.”
