Earlier this month, in August LIAT 2020 flight took off from V.C. Bird International Airport in Antigua. It carried a few selected government officials and journalists across the water to St. Lucia. Prime Minister Gaston Browne of Antigua and Barbuda, at the launch ceremony mentioned the new service, improving the connectivity for St Kitts and Nevis to Antigua and Barbuda with only a ten-minute journey.
“LIAT 2020” (Leeward Islands Air Transport Services ) came up from the partnership between Caribbean countries and Nigerian airline Air Peace. The airline starts with a small fleet of seven planes, designed to focus on routes central to Antigua and Barbuda, St. Lucia, and Barbados.
