Jet Blue Airlines is set to begin its direct flight service from October 9, 2024. The airline will have direct flights twice a week from New York to Saint Vincent and the Grenadines. The scheduled days of the week are Sundays and Wednesdays.
It is one of the major airlines that expanded its direct flight service to St. Vincent and the Grenadines. Considering the tourism boost and increased room stock, the airline has decided to expand its air service.
Minister of Finance, Camillo Gonsalves, made an announcement on the radio saying, “The announcements by major airlines that they will increase their flights is due to increase room stock in the country and their confidence in St Vincent and the Grenadines as a tourism destination.”
In addition to Jet Blue, American Airlines looks forward to add another direct flight from New York to St. Vincent. The service will begin in December 2024. The direct flight service will be available on Saturdays. Now, the visitors can enjoy their increased access to St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
The Minister of Finance later added, “So, you have Wednesday, Saturday, Sunday, either Jet Blue or American, and you still have Caribbean Airlines coming in twice a week as well. Additionally, American Airlines is going to start a once-a-week flight in December on Saturdays, out of Charlotte, North Carolina, and this is hugely important.”
The small diasporas of Charlotte offer reduced opportunities for tourist destinations. The airlines are confident that the visitors will have more options in St. Vincent and the Grenadines. This initiative by the airlines shows their trust in SVG that the island is capable of attracting loads of tourists by its natural beauty. The minister believes that the airline will bring tons of tourists from America who wish to experience the beauty of the islands.
The economy of St. Vincent and the Grenadines is based on tourism and agriculture. The agricultural import and exports will be easier as the island can provide is agricultural products to the other country continuously. Easy flight access to this country can uplift the agricultural industry as well as the tourism industry to new heights. The government is now focusing on improving tourism and construction sectors. The market value of the island products will be more that will have a positive impact on the economy of St. Vincent and the Grenadines. This country is happy to welcome visitors as it has so much potential to offer the goodness of the island.
