West Indies: Jeremiah Louis has been dropped from the West Indies Test Squad due to injury ahead of the last match of the England tour series. He will be replaced by Akeem Jordan at the test match which will be held from July 26 to 30, 2024.
Louis sustained a hamstring injury during the second test cricket match at Trent Bridge and has been ruled out of the series. Jordan has been selected in the squad for the test cricket match against England and took part in training on Wednesday.
Louis has remained with the squad for further treatment.
Jeremiah Louis along with his brother Mikyle Louis have been selected to the West Indies squad on their tour of England. Two brothers have scripted the history by making to the national team of the West Indies and becoming the first two players of St Kitts and Nevis.
Notably, he was also selected in the Cricket West Indies B Team squad for the inaugural edition of the Global T20 Canada Tournament in June 2018. In this season, he reached the 30-wicket mark and secured the position of highest wicket taker for the Leeward Islands, making him selected in the test squad.
With this cricket test match, Akeem Jordan will make his debut at the international stage and has featured in 19 first class games. He took 67 wickets since 2022 at an average of 24.10 with his performance including two five-wicket hauls. It was considered his best innings haul of 5 for 44.
The test series between West Indies and England was kickstarted from July 18, 2024, featuring three test matches. In the first match, England won by 241 runs, while in the second test match, England again secured victory by 114 runs.
The test series has been secured by England by winning two out of three matches, now the last match will commence on Friday.
