Bahamas: The Lynden Pindling International Airport in the Bahamas has been experiencing disruptions due to the global internet issues. The disruptions have impacted certain operations at LPIA and also delayed several services of the flights.
The internet issues have impacted the check-in and check-out process of the passengers as the authorities are currently operating backup system. At present, passengers are being processed in the check-in areas at all terminals (US Departures and International/Domestic Departures).
Bahamas Customs and Immigration are also able to process arriving passengers and work to enhance the service to resolve the inconvenience to the passengers. US Customs and Border Protection (USCBP) officers have currently been operating on a backup system to process US-bound travellers.
Due to the entire inconvenience, the passengers have also been facing the issue with their flights that will fly to and from Bahamas. The flights from the airlines of the United States have been disturbing the processing at the airport as the internet issue has grounded the carriers such as American Airlines, United and Delta.
The reports added that several flights have been delayed due to the issue by several airlines, causing disruption to the passengers from across the globe. The airport authority in the Bahamas encouraged travellers to collect their airlines directly from the latest updates regarding flights.
Notably, the commercial operations have also been facing interruptions due to global issues with some vendors having challenge processing credit card transactions. With the issue, the operation at the airport and other business places have been impacted, causing problems for the people whose work is totally dependent on the internet.
However, Delta resumed flight operations, but there is still internet malfunctioning in several areas.
The airport authority in the Bahamas appreciated the patience and understanding of all passengers during this time. They added that their team will continue to monitor the situation and provide updates throughout the day about the operations of the service.
