St. Kitts and Nevis: The historic Investment Gateway Summit (IGS) 2024 which is currently being held at St. Kitts and Nevis has successfully wrapped up its fourth day which was filled with insights of Nevis as an island and the vision it holds for the potential investors. Followed by an exclusive exploration tour to heritage sites in Nevis.
At the beginning of day 4 the attendees received a warm welcome at Nevis Performing Arts Centre (NEPAC) on their captivating day trip to Nevis. During the tour the guests embarked on a memorable journey through Nevis and discovered the rich heritage and vibrant culture that the island has to offer.
During the journey, the IGS 2024 attendees and guests were in awe of the lush natural beauty of the island. They were welcomed with a traditional dance performance by the locals in their traditional attires. The performers were also singing on the beats of the drums because of which the guests also started grooving on the beats of the instrumental music.
Following the welcome, the attendees enjoyed the local food and drinks served at the NEPAC. The guests also tried the traditional attire of the performers of the island and were seen capturing the memories.
During the tour, Premier Mark Brantley welcomed the IGS 2024 attendees to Nevis and gave a presentation emphasising on how the authorities are working to transform Nevis into the agricultural destination and making it a thriving economy, which the residents of islands have proved in the last 40 years.
Premier Brantley invited all the citizens to be part of this vibrant land full of offerings. He stated that “come to reside in Nevis, the country wants the guests to feel a sense of connection with St. Kitts and Nevis.
He further added,“The government wants the global economic citizens to invest in the land that is progressing fast and visit the island to have a holiday here.” Give your children and grandchildren a chance to be associated with the twin islands, Premier added.
Sharing the agricultural prospect of the country he said, a lot is going on in Nevis at developmental front but the government wants everyone to see the potential that the soil of Nevis has to offer. But countries in Caribbean ignore the growing the food themselves but import from other countries due to tax policies. But Nevis is working on growing more varieties and feeding its people.
He shared that in Nevis there are several opportunities in food production. Recently the island hosted the Mango Festival, where 44 different varieties of Mango are displayed. Further, the Premier noted, “We have natural soil, natural rainfall and a perfect environment for agriculture, but we are not getting benefited from it.”
After the insightful session, the guest had a scrumptious lunch at the well-known Sunshine’s Beach Bar and Grill in Nevis. The location is the blend of perfect views, Caribbean charm and culinary excellence.
The guests savoured the region’s finest cuisine in a relaxing atmosphere having traditional food and Tasting Nevis Rum in iconic scenery and engaged in conversations with the fellow attendees, who have come to St. Kitts and Nevis from across the world.
Following the good food, the day ended with a ride back to St. Kitts on Sunset Cruise. The journey was magical, one guest while going back on cruise stated. Breathtaking sunset, the Caribbean Sea and its soothing waves concluded the Day 4 of IGS 2024.
