Trinidad and Tobago: Even after the stoppage of the rainfall, the flooding is still ongoing in Trinidad and Tobago and mostly in the sections of Penal and Barrackpore.
Due to the excessive overnight rainfall, the streets, roads, buildings and lanes have been flooded as the water is not getting a way to pass out. The flow of the water has stopped, causing disruptions all over the country.
An excavator was also caught in flood waters in a river at Monkey Town village in Barrackpore, while the drains were clogged. The water has reached the five-mile mark at Penal Rock Road and streets have been drenched into over two feet of water.

Due to the heavy rainfall, the wall of the building collapsed at Sammy West Trace and the family’s house has been filled with water. The tides have heightened at 1: 49 pm, causing the runoff of the water.
At 3: 40 pm, the isolated showers have occurred at the interior central of Trinidad and Tobago, offering thunderstorms and short-lived winds. The rainfall has also moved across Trinidad and windward coastlines of Tobago this evening. It has also exacerbated floods across southern Trinidad and interrupted mostly cloudy skies.
The weather centre of Trinidad and Tobago noted that all eastbound lanes of the Churchill Roosevelt Highway past Orange Grove, Trincity, are flooded, with the right two lanes passable at this time.
As per the met department, the yellow level has been issued for Trinidad and Tobago due to the moderate to heavy showers which could lead to street, flash flooding and localized ponding in some areas.

For the coming days, the gusty winds and choppy seas is likely to cause heavy downpours in Trinidad and Tobago. The Flood-Prone areas are advised to remain vigilant and cautious during the heavy rainfall as there are the chances of flash flooding and landslides.
The situation has been posing threats to the Caribbean region amid the ongoing 2024 Atlantic Hurricane Season, causing thunderstorms and heavy rainfall.
