Guyana: The Campbellville Secondary School is all ready to receive a transformation with the addition of a new teaching block. The project is estimated to be valued at $143.9 million.
Minister of Education, Priya Manickchand on Tuesday morning visited the site where she officially began the construction of a new building by turning the first shovel of soil.
The Minister announced that the new teaching block in the Campbellville Secondary School will include 8 classrooms, 2 sanitary blocks, and a room for the staff. She further stated that the aim of the government is to provide modern facilities to the students, and that will provide a better learning environment to students and enhanced teaching facility to staff.
It is to be noted that the contract for the construction has been given to the Kaiveri Construction Inc. Moreover, the workers have assured that the project is expected to complete within eleven months from now.
Investing $143.9 million for providing better infrastructure to the educational sector demonstrates the commitment of the Ministry of Education, that has been working and implementing programs and projects aimed at improving the educational infrastructure in the country.
Such projects will attract more children to go to school regularly and the parents will have the assurance that their children are provided with the world class technology and infrastructure in their hometown. The school administration is eagerly waiting for the completion of the project.
This project promises to foster a more encouraging atmosphere for academic excellence and accommodate more students.
Minister Manickchand stated that the authorities and the locals are happy about this development, “We are thrilled about this development,” she added.
Further she added that this represents a significant step forward in our efforts to provide high-quality education and better facilities for the students and teachers.
