Trinidad: A man from Diego Martin, Trinidad was robbed of his vehicle and personal belongings as he went to meet his Grindr date. The 23-year-old, whose identity is kept secret, revealed that the incident took place in Port of Spain on Thursday.
According to reports, the victim drove his white Toyota Daihatsu, priced $25,000 to Prince Street at around 11:30 pm to meet a man he had previously interacted with via Grindr, which is a dating app. As he reached his destination, he was confronted by an unknown male suspect who ordered him out of the vehicle.
The victim stated that he immediately left the vehicle out of fear and complied with the orders of the suspect. The suspect then immediately entered the driver’s seat and fled the scene with the car. The Victim revealed that the stolen car included his Samsung S21 Plus phone, worth $7,000 and a pair of spectacles valued at $4,000.
He said that in search of safety, he started walking westward towards a gas station in St Christopher, where he met some police officials who assisted him, and took him to the Belmont Police station, where a report was filed.
Details of the Suspect
The victim shared the complete details of the suspect stating that he seemed to be of African descent, approximately 5’10” tall, slim build with a brown complexion, long and unkept hair. The suspect was wearing a black T-shirt and short black pants, the victim stated.
The police authorities at the Besson Street Police Department are carrying out a thorough investigation into the case, with PC Smart leading the investigations to find out the suspect. The suspect remains on run, and the authorities have also urged locals to stay cautious and report immediately to their nearby police stations, if they report any suspicious activity.
