Grenada: Nexa New Dimension Steel Orchestra retained its title and secured National Panorama Championship in the recently held Spice Mas 2024. The band retained its position for the 14th consecutive time in the event.
The skilled tuning of Terrence Sheppard with Byam’s arrangement of “In Meh Head” have led them to win the championship for yet another year. The Nexa New Dimension was lauded for their performance and the exclusive cultural showcase at the stage of the Spice Mas Carnival.
Prime Minister Dickon Mitchell extended greetings to the band for the performance and retaining the title for another year. The Band secured the title under the leadership of Manager Aldwyn Francis, Arranger Cordel Byam, Captain Ricardo Ashton, and the skilled tuning of Terrence Sheppard.
The steel pan music also garnered the attention of the audience and outlined the cultural vibrancy of the Spice Mas and the event. PM Dickon Mitchell added,” We extend our heartfelt congratulations and anticipate more exceptional steel pan performances, as you continue to keep our culture vibrant and ever evolving. To all participants, we commend your dedication, passion, and artistry that made this year’s Panorama truly memorable.”
Last year, Nexa New Dimension Steel Orchestra won the competition with the performance by V’ghn in the final event. The second position was secured by Angel Harps Steel Orchestra with the performance of the song called Bouncing Low.
The third position in last year’s event was won by Commancheros Steel Orchestra with the performance of the song called “The Spirit of Shadow.”
