As of 18th December, 2024, the price of a 100 lbs. cylinder in Grenada has risen by $1.30, announced by the Ministry of Finance.

As the new month begins, the prices of 100 lbs. cylinder have gone up in Grenada from $216 to $217.30, bringing little financial strain on consumers. The price of 100 lbs. cylinder has also risen in Carriacou and Petite Martinique from 239.00 to 240.30, marking an increase of $1.30.

The authorities have also announced a change in the retail prices of petroleum products including, Gasoline, Diesel and Liquified Petroleum Gas. The change in the prices of these goods is effective from today and will be valid till 18th January, 2025.

The price of 20 lbs. cylinder in Grenada continues to be $40, a price that has been stable since several months. The residents of Carriacou and Petite Martinique will also face neither incline or decline in the price of 20 lbs. cylinder, costing around $49.00.

The price of Bulk cooking gas cylinders also remained constant in both Grenada and Carriacou and Petite Martinique, costing to $2.25.

Change in Price of Gasoline, Diesel and Kerosene

The Ministry of Finance has also announced a significant reduction in the prices of Gasoline, Diesel and Kerosene.

The initial prices of these products were $14.93, $14.45 and $10.38 which have now reduced to $14.77, $14.37 and $9.77 respectively.

The sudden change of $0.16, $0.08 and $0.61 in the prices of Gasoline, Diesel and Kerosene applies not only for the citizens of Grenada but also for Carriacou and Petite Martinique.

Statement shared by Ministry of Finance of Grenada

Shedding light on the revised prices of Petroleum Products and LPG Cooking Gas Cylinders, the Ministry of Finance said that they are committed to continue to monitor petroleum products prices.

The authorities added that they will intervene only if the change in the prices of goods exceed the limit of $17.00. The Petroleum Products Prices of Gasoline, Diesel and Kerosene in Grenada and Carriacou and Petite Martinique are also fully coordinated in line with statements which were made by the Minister of Finance during Budget Speech made by them in 2023.

The new retail prices which have been announced by the authorities are computed. They are based on the average of the actual cost, freight, and insurance rates for Gasoline, Diesel and Kerosene. However, the mean Caribbean postings for cost were used over the period from 15th October, 2024 to 12th November, 2024.
