Premier Mark Brantley of St. Kitts and Nevis had recently met the ambassador of Palestine to St. Kitts and Nevis, Linda Sobeh Ali. She met Premier Brantly during a courtesy call at his Pinney’s Estate Office on Friday, September 20. The meeting revolved around the current conflict situation in Gaza and what the world can do to ensure a peaceful solution.
Premier Brantley also affirmed his support for a two-state solution where Israel and Palestine shall coexist peacefully.
Ambassador Ali also briefed Premier Brantley on the existing situation in the region and the ongoing process for a sustainable and peaceful resolution. She also showed appreciation for St. Kitts and Nevis for remaining supportive of the Palestine people.
Premier Brantley and Ambassador Ali reaffirmed their commitment to working towards a peaceful solution that benefits all parties involved.
Premier Mark Brantley also welcomed the Ambassador of Switzerland to St. Kitts and Nevis, Rita Hämmerli-Weschke, who continued a courtesy call at his Pinney’s Estate Office on Friday, September 20.
“We certainly look forward to the discussions we intend to have about how we can strengthen and deepen our bilateral relationships between St. Kitts and Nevis and Switzerland,” said Premier Brantley.
Ambassador Hämmerli-Weschke said she was delighted to visit Nevis for the first time and that it was a privilege for her to have her first official meeting with the Premier.
Nevis maintains cooperative ties with its allies in the region as a member of the wider Federation. The Flamboyant Nursing Home in Nevis received an automated mobile shower trolley as a recent donation from the Swiss government, arranged through Consul General Amory.
Mark Brantley, Premier of Nevis, will host his monthly press conference on Thursday, September 26, 2024, at 10:00 am in the Cabinet Room of the Nevis Island Administration, situated on the second floor of the Social Security Building in Pinney’s Estate.
