Nassau, Bahamas: The Bahamas Union of Teachers Women’s Committee has generously donated items of personal care and hygiene to the Willie Mae Pratt Centre for Girls and the Cancer Society of the Bahamas.
It is to be noted that the Bahamas Union of Teachers Status of Women Committee is an organization that has teachers and women of several professions who are diligently working to help the females of the society who are in need.
The donation had packs of toiletries and personal care items, which included bedsheets, dental hygiene products, and pillows. This package was aimed to benefit more than 100 women.
The union stated that they are following this year’s theme, “A Home Away from Home,” and are providing assistance to fellow women who are in dire need of basic necessities.
Aniska Gibson, President of the Committee, shared that these initiatives are meant to showcase the support to the community, and they are doing everything with heart.
Also, the president stated, “These items will assist those persons staying at the Cancer Caring Centre.”
Further, the Cancer Society and the centre for girls’ representatives shared that these donations will make a big difference, and have a positive impact on the lives on the women of the island nation.
The teacher’s committee is urging others in the Bahamas to also get into this positive act and help the ones in need, as well as help them in the cause they are working on.
Also, the Bahamas Hope Challenge has provided the Cancer Society with more than $2 Million and created the Family Island Mammogram Screening (FIMS) program and the Fund for Treatment Assistance, which help the society to impact the lives that have been affected by cancer.
