Guyana: A 26-year-old model Ariana Blaize was crowned as the new Miss Universe Guyana 2024 held at the Guyana Marriott Hotel in Georgetown on Friday. With the victory, Blaize will represent the country in the upcoming Miss Universe 2024.
The competition is scheduled to be held in Mexico in November 2024, where the current Miss Universe Sheynnis Palacios will crown her successor at the end of the event.
Blaize who is also Miss Georgetown outperformed eleven other women in every round of the pageant and gained high scores. The first runner up of the pageant was Faydeha King who belongs to Berbice community in Guyana, while Farah Sattaur from Uitvlugt won the position of the second runner up.
The Miss Universe Guyana was kickstarted with the photography session to capture shots of the top 11 finalists and their attires. All participants wore white coloured shorts with T-shirts and walked on the ramp for the photoshoot.
After that, the finalists faced the judges in the crucial interview segment of the competition, featuring multiple questions. The session was followed by the swimsuit segment of Miss Universe Guyana 2024 through which top 6 finalists were selected who paved their path towards the final round.
With the question answer session, the top 6 finalists were judged through which three contestants participated in the final segment.
Last year, the pageant was won by Lisa Narine who represented Pomeroon-Supenaam Region on September 2, 2023. She also represented Guyana in Miss Universe 2023 and marked the return of the country to the event after a five-year hiatus.
Ariana Blaize was hailed by the citizens, friends and family for her performance in the event as wishes have been showered on her. A digital creator- “The Goat Becky” in Guyana also lauded Blaize for her answers and said that she did an amazing job.
