Stewart made the whole country proud with his immaculate silver win at the Paris Paralympics 2024. The athlete from Trinidad and Tobago, Akeem Stewart, will be awarded an amount of $150,000 from the Ministry of Sport and Community Development.
This is awarded as a part of the National Incentives and Rewards Framework grant made exclusively to help the athletes. The policy framework was made to honor athletes who achieve medals at the highest levels of international competition across various sports.
Minister of Sport and Community Development Shamfa Cudjoe-Lewis is all set to recognize and reward Akeem Stewart. The athlete will receive this honor under the National Incentives and Rewards Framework.
The honor is to celebrate and recognize his silver medal and win at the Paris Paralympics Games 2024. He has again brought back a medal to the nation. The whole island celebrates this proud moment, and all the residents of the island nation convey their regards to the athlete.
Minister of Sport and Community Development also stated in a media release, “With his incredible performance, Akeem has once again made Trinidad and Tobago proud, adding to his legacy of excellence that began with his gold and silver victories at Rio 2016,”
The nation has previously also recognized Stewart’s contribution to Trinidad and Tobago at the international athletic games. Stewart was also awarded $450,000 for his previous accomplishments at the 2016 Summer Paralympics.
The nation recognized his achievements at the international sports stage. He received $181,250 for his gold medal in the discus and a silver medal in the javelin at the 2019 Parapan American Games.
The Ministry of Sports and Community Development stated after this proud silver win, “We salute Akeem for his dedication, strength, and unwavering determination. Let’s continue to rally behind him as he inspires us all.”
