Nevis: Mighty J won the Junior Kaiso Calypso Monarch on Wednesday in Nevis Culturama Festival 2024. He secured 248 scores and 420 as aggregate runs in the final round of the contest.
The pageant was hosted by Greenhouse Band and Nevis Solid Waste Management Authority as part of the fringe events of the 50th anniversary celebration of the Nevis Culturama Festival 2024. The finals of the pageant were held at the Cultural Village with the amazing performances of the contestants.
A total of 14 contestants have been qualified for the finals of the Junior Kaiso Calypso Contest where entry to the patrons was free.
The result of the Junior Kaiso Calypso Monarch was unveiled as the position of the first runner up was secured by Mighty Zen with 248 scores and 415 aggregate. He has been trailed with five runs from the winner of the pageant.
The second runner up of the contest remained Lady B who scored 242 marks in the final round of the Junior Kaiso Calypso Monarch. Princess Kali has remained third runner up with the score of 240.
Premier Mark Brantley extended congratulations to the winners and added that the event has remained blast, offering great start to the Nevis Culturama Festival 2024.
Nevis has been celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Culturama Festival with an enthusiastic lineup of the events including pageantries, emancipation concert, and other colourful events. The event was held under the theme- “Celebrating Culture, Embracing History, Its Culturama 50.”
The culturama is designed to embrace history and celebrate authentic culture of Nevis with vibrant sounds of the musicians and other artistes.
The sensational performances by ah Vinci, Bunji Garlin and Fay-Ann Lyons (Vikings LM Band-backed), Skinny Banton, Burning Flames, Speedy, Triple-K International, Friends Band, Small Axe Band, Smooth Vybz Band, Kore Band, DJ Smudge, SG Prezidential, Itelboulos & Reloaded Sound. Hosted by the dynamic Neila Jones and Sugar Bowl will kick off the Nevis Culturama 2024.
