West Indies: West Indies is all set to host South Africa in the series of Test and T20 cricket matches from August 7 to 27, 2024. In the five-match series, two games will be played for the test format and three will be played for T20 internationals.
The five-match series will kick off with the test match at Queen’s Park Oval in Trinidad and Tobago which is scheduled to be held between West Indies and South Africa. The first test match will be held from April 7 to 11, 2024.
The second test match of the series will be held from August 15 to 19, 2024 at the National Stadium of Guyana. In order to win the test series, the teams will have to win both matches from August 7 to 19, 2024.
Further, the series of the T20 internationals will kick off on August 23, 2024, with matches between West Indies and South Africa. The match will be held at Brian Lara Cricket Ground, Trinidad. The second T20Is will be held on August 25, 2024 at Trinidad and the third match of the T20 will be held on August 27, 2024, at Brian Lara Cricket Ground, Trinidad.
The tickets will be available at the official website of Windies Cricket and the patrons can book their tickets. The squad of South Africa has also been unveiled which will include: Temba Bavuma (captain), David Bedingham, Matthew Breetzke, Nandre Burger, Gerald Coetzee, Tony de Zorzi, Keshav Maharaj, Aiden Markram, Wiaan Mulder, Lungi Ngidi, Dane Paterson, Dane Piedt, Kagiso Rabada, Ryan Rickelton, Tristan Stubbs, Kyle Verreynne.
With the series of cricket matches, the old rivalry between West Indies and South Africa will heat up again in the Caribbean. The rivalry has been built in the recently concluded ICC T20 World Cup 2024 in which South Africa defeated West Indies in the knockout stage of the Super 8 format.
After getting defeated by South Africa, the West Indies lost their chance to win the World Cup and even paved the path to the semi-finals of the ICC T20 World Cup.
Now, the matches will again heat up the old rivalry as the World Cup was held in the Caribbean grounds. So, it will entice the audience and the fans who will come here to support their favourite team as the West Indies will get the chance to take revenge for the World Cup.
